1Objective
- The Korean Nurses Association gives opportunities of volunteer activities through various volunteer programs and provides nurses with voluntary participation.
- Provide opportunities to integrate individual hobbies and skills with volunteer activities.
- Promote nurse volunteer activities through networking and cooperating with volunteer organizations.
- Promote consistent and professional volunteer activities programs.
- Promote professional volunteer corps in partnerships with social welfare organizations and facilities.
2Progress Directive
- Invigorate volunteer activities for social integration by setting an example by volunteering at facilities for the handicapped, homeless, and the elderly.
- Train the KNA volunteer corps to encourage nurse volunteer activities.
- Award model volunteers to motivate participation in volunteer activities as well as promote the value of volunteer service.

4Anticipated results
- Expansion of small-scale volunteer activities revolving around The Korean Nurses Association Volunteer Corps.
- Motivate and create opportunities for nurses to participate in volunteer activities.
- Create environments and conditions for voluntary participation in volunteer activities that cultivate nurses’ hobbies and skills.
- Organize systematic volunteer activities through professional training.
5Main projects
(1) Nurses volunteer activities
- Period: Year-round
- Action plan:
Provide volunteer services through partnerships with elderly and handicapped groups.
Conduct joint volunteer activities in partnership with the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare, the Sunhan Medical Volunteer‘s Society, and the Campaign Office for Healthy Society. - Number of participants: Approximately 20 nurses from the KNA volunteer corps per project
- Application: Notice on the KNA Volunteer Corps website
- Volunteer services: Basic vital check-up and health consultation
(2) Global volunteer activities
- Period: Year-round
- Target: Developing countries
- Application: Applications accepted on The Korean Nurses Association website (Dispatch trained members of the KNA volunteer corps)
- Volunteer services: Global medical volunteer services
(3) Partnerships with elderly and handicapped groups
- Period: Year-round
- Target: Elderly and handicapped groups
- Volunteer services: Provide year-round volunteer services in accordance with partnership agreements
(4) The KNA volunteer corps training
- Period: Every March (One night, two days)
- Program: TBD
(5) Nurse volunteer campaign
- Period: June or July (Two nights, three days)
- Location: TBD by annual board of steering committee
- Participation: The KNA Volunteer Corps
- Program: TBD
(6) Volunteer system model and manual development
- Application: Develop volunteer system model and distribute manual to the 16 regional chapters
- Target: The KNA Volunteer Corps and 16 regional chapters nurses volunteer corps
